Ed, we are talking about the lives .... or the deaths .... of maybe
thousands of American fighting men. You are talking about someone who might
get miffed about a discussion of our dangerously flawed foreign policy. We
have been there. We have seen those tough fighters come at us in waves. We
know how cold it gets in that benighted country. When the fuel oil shipments
are cut off these belligerent people will probably decide to just take what
they need. And Bush is putting them into a very good position to make this
decision .... and act on it. We have told our war stories. The Viet Nam vets
have their stories, just as the veterans of Grenada, Panama, and the Persian
Gulf have theirs. But no one seems to see the common thread running through
these stories about death and destruction. We fight, we die, but we don't
win. The politicians think we can fight nice, tidy, push-button wars. Sure,
we can fight them, but we can't win them. Those yayhoos in Washington, who
are little more than shoe shines and smiles, have such short memories.
Veterans have longer ones. Some may bug out of this site, but I will have to
be driven out, just as I was driven out of the hills in North Korea. You
have the heavy artillery. You have the target. Commence firing!
