RE: Korea War II

Sandy -

I deal in specifics, and I need not commence each argument at Genesis 1, 1.
As for Star Wars, We have had to spend lots of money to "Hit a bullet with a bullet" because some idiots decided that it was better to have an incoming nuke explode on its target than to blow it up with a nuke above the stratosphere, a capability we had years ago, and a concept that rings Moscow. We are also well along in developing the laser, and we could deploy smart pebbles within 5 years.
As for Iran-Contra, if Bolen had not been so successful protecting his commie constituents the U.S. would not have had to resort to other still legal legal means to support anti-communists. Has the United States supported people who subsequently turned against us? Sure. Will the U.S. in the future support others who subsequently turn against us? Sure. Was Clinton's oil and nuke plants for an unvalidatable promise stupid? Yes.
And FDR fooled around with Lucy Mercer and Eisenhower was banging his jeep driver and...

Gene,

Your memory is very selective. Don't you recall Iran-Contra? You know the Bible and Birthday cake thing. What about supporting Iraq with intell informatoin on the Iranians. What about the Iraqis attacking a US frigate, which the Bush, The Elder, took care of by warning Iran not to try and do anything against the oil traffic shipping in the Gulf?

What about April Glasby (sp) who reflected the Bush position re Iraq vs Kuwait who told Saddam that what he did re Kuwait wasn't in Amerian interests? What about Baker's comment that the War in Kuwait was about Jobs, Jobs, Jobs. I don't recall any flood of the job marked after the Gulf War.

What ever happened to Star Wars after only a few tens (or is it hundreds) of billions were thrown down a black hole to develop a concept straight out of Alice in Wonderland?

Lets put all the cards on the table if we are going to evaluate any administration's plusses and minusses.
