Give the Marines credit, they're a great outfit. I spent 30
years with the Army. I alway enjoyed the good natured razing of the Marines.
Then I spent almost 8 years on Okinawa working with the Marines on a daily
basis. I gained a whole new perspective and never again bad-mouthed the Marines,
even in jest. I could get more done with a Marine Captain than I could with an
Army Colonel and get it done faster.
I recently watched the History Channel program on the Army's
basic training. I also watched Discovery Channel's Making of a Marine. The
Marines have it right, thank God, while the Army program disgusted
me.
