Re: Korean War timeline 1951

Oct 22 The first nine aircraft from VMA-121 arrived in Korea. This was the first Marine Reserve Squadron to serve in Korea, and the first Marine squadron to be equipped with the AD aircraft.

Nov 9 1st MarDiv OpnO 50-51 directed that all supporting arms and weapons commemorate the Marine Corps Birthday the next day by firing a TOT (all guns to time their projectiles so that all hit the ground at the same time) on Hill 1052. USS Los Angeles contributed naval gunfire, and 83 Marine planes, led by CG 1st MAW, MGen Christian Schilt joined the frey.

Nov 10 The performance was repeated with Marine tanks, mortars and machine guns added in. The Communists were bombarded with 50,000 leaflets inviting them to the Marine Corps birthday dinner that night. Twenty North Koreans surrendered, although it was not sure if it was in response to the invitation or the shelling.
