Great post.

The CIA had tried to recruit people to investigate and report on MacArthur's doings. One of these was retired Marine General Pedro Del Valle. He was an admirer of MacArthur and reported this attempt to MacArthur. Needless to say, Mac was one to hold a grudge, and kept the CIA at arms length.
