What nonsense. Ya had to be alive then to appreciate the situation. Rhee was seen as the most eligible Korean to take charge in South Korea when the US Army had it under its control. I recall then that there was no indication in the American public's eyes that he would turn out to be a hard-liner. The negotiators at Panmunjom were taken aback by Rhee's actions re releasing POW's

Monday morning quarterbacking is usually 20-20. But in this case, your comment isn't anywhere near accuracy, and it indicates a lack of understanding of the zeitgeist of the 1950's
