No it was not...
China and Russia were warry of getting into a conflict.
Russia had a massive army and air command that could
have wiped us out at anytime.
 
The Koreans were having a Civil War and they were very effective
drawing all the Big Guys into the conflict..
 
Screw the Communist Idolog crap.. this was war over who was going to Rule.
Plane and simple.  One dictatorship over another.
 
The only difference we FORCED the SK to adopt a form of Democracy.

The 1950-1953 war in Korea was not a Civil War, regardless of what you may have read. It was a war of un-mitigated aggression, provoked by Stalin in an effort to bring the entire peninsula into the Communist sphere.

IMO we use the word Free to justify how we felt after the war.
I do not consider the period Free even after the Conflict...

My experience was there was a lot of harsh political bickering.

To repeat a comment from a prior post, it helps to be aware of history before bleating out such mindless clap trap.
