I am very familiar with the travesty of the 24th being sent from
garrison duty to combat ill trained and ill equipt. I was curios as to
what specific parent org. "M" Co. was from. Thank you.

Robert,
Picture taken at Camp Wood, Sazbo, Japan. Within two months of
that picture most of the men on that picture would be dead or POW.
Speaking of lousy rifles, bazookas and other weapons of battlefield
destruction. What they had did not work. Would not have mattered too
much anyway if you see the battle drawings.
21st/ 3rd/ Co. M. was surrounded on both flanks by the North Koreans
(8th Army I think? - hey guys correct me, I don't have my research
with me) while the T-34s came down through the middle of them while
surrounded on both flanks. anti-tank weapons bounced off the tanks.
' Boys right from partying in Japan, not much training, inoperable
equipment. .. But they performed the "delaying tactic" which is what
MacArthur knew, obviously, was the only thing they were capable of at
the time and how swiftly he moved them over there.
Hey! did it cause much of a delay?
