Gene,
The six and six was an option between the Korean and Vietnam Wars, but not
an option during the Korean War, nor During the Vietnam War.

Can someone explain the US draft system as it existed in June 1950?
What was the target age?
How were they selected for service? (All had to serve?)
How long did they have to serve?
