Re: Hey Ed et al

Gernilee,

Roger that. I turned 5 three days after the ceasefire went into effect. I only knew about the war because a 14-year-old kid named Bobby Fisher lived two houses down and was building all of the US jets used in the war out of wooden model kits. He inspired me to build my first model in August 1953 -- an F-94C jet fighter from Lindberg -- but I spilled the glue all over the table and ruinied two of my mother's plastic placemats. Had to put it together with Scotch Tape.

49 years later I am still a modeler (albeit a little more coordinated!) but still remember that first sight of Panthers and Thunderjets (he was saving up for a Sabre).
