Re: Captain James Hausman, US Army Military Advisor to Korea, 1946-48: The Intelligent Man on the Spot.

FYI, I just learned of this other new title about Americans in Korea before (when) the north invaded:  SOS Korea, 1950 Eyewitness Accounts of Americans in South Korea When the North Attacked, by Raymond B. Maurstad.  Maurstad himself helped oversee an emergency evacuation of U.S. and foreign dependents from Pusan.  His experiences are described on the Maritime Admin web site:  www.marad.dot.gov/history/korea/maurstad.pdf.

His book was published by Beaver's Pond Press (Dec 2002?) and is available for $16.95 from midwestbookhouse.com, phone 800-430-0044.
