I am looking for anyone who may recall details relative to
a B-29 shootdown that occured at approximately 01:00 hours, 19 November,
1952. The aircraft serial number was 44-66392. I am particularly
interested in details of the recovery efforts conducted, as well as any
information relative to the crew in the subsequent months and years. It is
believed that the entire crew bailed out of the aircraft, and reached the
ground/water near Cho'Do Island. One crewmember drowned, and one was shot
on the Korean mainland.
I am especially interested in a member of the crew named
Major Kassel Monford Keene. There had been several reports that Major
Keene was being held in captivity after his capture, and had been sentenced to 2
1/2 years for fighting with another prisoner. The "trial" took place in
July of 1953. Due to this sentence, Major Keene was not to be released
during the repatriation efforts, and nothing further has ever been
reported.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who may have any
information about this loss. To learn more detail about the incident,
please visit my web site at: http://home.att.net/~myron.sestak
Thank you very much for your consideration.
Regards,
Ray Sestak
