Re: North Korea's 1st Lady Pilot

Cookie,

>>Nope. The problem is there is SO much propaganda in DPRK claims it's hard to say who did and who did not really fight in the war. They have another woman they claimed was an 8-victory ace over F-86s and who singlehandly wiped out an F-84 base in South Korea, so with that level of tall tales it's hard to sort them out.<<

Should point out that Taehwa-do is only 28 miles from the mouth of the Yalu River and about 20 miles off NK's coast.

>>She may well have been a U-2 (Po-2) night bomber pilot, but who knows?<<
Lankford (captured along with Adams-Acton when Taehwa-do fell night of Nov 30-Dec 1, 1951) mentioned in his book the island was being bombed almost nightly by old "biplanes'" for about three weeks before the main attack. They also were hit by jets during daylight a couple of times.
