Korean War salute

Korean War veterans will be the center of attention
for three days this July in Washington, D.C., to mark
the 50th anniversary of the conflict’s cease-fire and
the end of three years of Defense Department
commemorations. The veterans, their families and the
public are invited to the “National Salute to Korean
War Veterans” July 25-27. It will include an event at
the MCI Center, a ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns
in Arlington National Cemetery and a ceremony at the
Korean War Veterans Memorial on the National Mall.
Events will include a parade of unit colors from all
five branches of the U.S. military and the 21 other
nations that fought under U.N. command in the
1950-1953 war. It will be the first time the colors of
all major units from the Korean War have been brought
together.
