These were partisans operating from the islands off North Korea's coast,
some on the east coast but most on the west coast.. They began as 8th Army
G-3 Miscellaneous Group, 8086th AU, (my outfit back then) in Jan 1951 and
were absorbed Far East Command Liaison Detachment, Korea, 8240th, 10 Dec
1951, becoming the United Nations Partisan FORCES, Korea, 8240th AU. C&C
transferred to Combined Command Reconnaissance Activities, Korea, (CCRAK,)
8242d AU, 10 Oct 1952, and became "United Nations Partisan Infantry, Korea"
but did retain the 8240th AU designation. CCRAK was under C&C of Far East
Command Liaison GROUP, 8240th AU, APO 500 (Tokyo.)
