Re: Parade Magazine

Bob:
No.  This is the Jim Brady who writes for Parade and authored two books on his experiences in Korea: "The Coldest War: A Memoir of Korea" and the "Marines of Autumn."  A friend of my dad's who would love this group, but who was fearless in the Korean War yet seems to be afraid of the computer, served with Brady in Korea.  I believe that would mean that Brady served with the 7th Marines; if I remember correctly, Vohs was with Dog 1/7 in '51-'52; although,  I could be wrong about this.  My dad was Easy Co., then Fox 2/5 from August '52-March '53.

Is this the same Jim Brady who was Ronald Reagan's press secretary, and was wounded in the assassination attempt on the president in 1980?

I received the following notice from a Korean War veteran who was injured at Reno Block, at the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines were defending Outposts Reno, Carson and Vegas. For more information on James Brady I found a CNN chat transcript from 2000:  http://www.cnn.com/COMMUNITY/transcripts/2000/6/22/brady/

James Brady, the Editor of Parade magazine, will be on the cover of that magazine Sunday, 25 May 2003 . He is re-visiting a hill in Korea, which, I think, is old Reno.  He was a second Lieutenant in Korea in 1952, and won a Bronze Star for showing up.  It wasn't called Reno then, but I am quite sure it is one of the Nevada outposts.  Just thought you would be interested.
