Re: F-86s & Emergency Carrier Landings



He may have had an expermintal USAF/Navy version FJ-5 Fury.
This experiment was going on to a limited extent between the AF and Navy.
The FJ5 was an H version of the F86 redesigned for the Navy.

The Navy did not have a really decent fighter until the F 8 Crusader.
Of course the Phantom was the best of the time. Otherwise the Navy suffered
getting the better Fighter plane until technology caught up.
