Thanks Cookie:
Do you have stats on the other
Aircraft
Bearcat
Tigercat
B26
AD1-4
B29
F80
F84
All these AC were involved in Ground
Attack
No doubt the Carrier issue brings an extra
element.
I wonder how the AD1-4's fared out in the Carrier
Operations

Subject: Re: What is "MiG Alley"?
The
USAF lost a total of 477 Mustangs in Korea: 12 in air-to-air, 210 to AAA,
100 on combat operations, and 140 writeoffs or accidents. The Navy and
Marine Corps combined lost a total of 554 F4Us of all types (-4, -5 and AU-1)
with 3 in air-to-air, 259 to AAA, 51 on combat operations, and 223 in
accidents or writeoffs. Most of the latter were due to carriers being
inherently more dangerous for flying than land-based operations (e.g. hook
failures, engine failures on takeoff, dead cat shots, etc.)
