RE: korean-war.com (off topic)

Actually, you have to count Taiwan in, too.

Before the Korea War, Communist China had massed half a million
troops near the Formosa Strait and been ready to launch a cross-
strait assault. The Korea War changed the situation almost overnight.

Chinese redeployed some of these troops to N. Korea to fight the
U.N. Their 9th Army Group hitting 1st Marine Division at Chosin
Reservoir was sent to N. Korea from southern China in such a
haste that they lacked the appropriate winter gears and thus
suffered lots of causalities due to the cold weather. Furthermore,
the U. S. government announced its intention to assist Taiwan's
defense against Chinese invasion and ordered the 7th Fleet to
include the Formosa Strait as a part of its patrolling duties.

So that's why Taiwan is still free and prosper.

S.Korea is still free.......the Communists failed in their bid to subdue
her....the UN threw them out of S. Korea.....restored the line
antibellum......reads like a win to me John.
