Re: Truman and the Marines



Mandy, there was a time when we might - and often - did try to settle with our fists the argument about which arm of the service was the best. We are old guys now, and our arguments are done with our typing fingers. But such arguments will persist as long as there are separate branches, and as long as there are men who are proud of their branch of service.

I was responding to a slur on the honor and  the patriotism of the United States Army. I shall continue to respond to such comments. It is wrong to cast a slur, it is right to respond to a slur.
 
If the Marines are so great, how come they don't have a football team instead of carrying water for Annapolis?
