Re: Truman and the Marines
Title: Re: Truman and the Marines
While I may be keeping this off-topic subject
going, I do want to say that, while I am a proud former Marine, WWII
and Korea variety, and while the Army has had many problems which have
not affected the Corps, I am greatly impressed by today's Army, which
is doing more than it realistically can with fewer men than it should
have. The Army acquitted itself well in the Gulf War and in Iraq.
Where there were weaknesses, they showed. I also think that Rumsfeld
is screwing up the Army in many ways, and the way he treated Army
Chief of Staff Gen Shinseki is a crime. He never appeared at the Gen's
retirement ceremony. No class. Thus endeth the lesson.
