Re: (no subject)

The Marines were moved to the Western Front to protect the direct route to Seoul in March 1952. The Marines were centered with the Commonwealth Division on their right and the Korean Marines on their left. The move covered 140 miles, and was designated Operation Mix master. The Marines had moved from the extreme right to the extreme left...from the East Coast to the West. If you were in the middle...this might explain it.

the closest marines to Heartbreak were in the Pusan PX.

All the time I was in Korea, 1951, with the 5th RCT USA, not once did I see a Marine anywhere in my area.  I really thought that they had been pulled out and sent home, but they could have been over in West side of S. Korea, I do not know.

My unit was mostly up the center, then over on the East side.
