| John, I believe it was a Ju-52 transport which they had captured and used for agent insertions. The same thing is used in the fictional film "Where Eagles Dare". ROE are hard to describe but if you are caught in an enemy aircraft marked as enemy there is always the possibility that you can be charged as a spy, even if in proper uniform. Squadron has two books called "Strangers in a Strange Land" (Vols 1 and 2) and they examine the use of captured aircraft by the Germans and Japanese, as well as some of our own uses.
