The Marine air only supported us one time and they did that by dropping a tank of napalm on my unit. That was the only time I ever saw a Corsair air craft and the last.
We set up our machine gun and was ready to shot the leader down, but an FO Texan chased them away. We were all on different radio bands, so we could not call to stop the attack.
