During WW2 Germany and Austria had many defectors to Russia.
Including Croation, Hungarian and Polish.
They did not go in droves but the Battle of the Bulge typified
the Germans skills in using English as a tactic to disrupt the battle.
Would not be surprised that Russia did much of the same in Korea.
Europe and Russia have many ethnic languages.
This is an interesting topic.
