English speaking Chinese

We had English speaking Chinese cutting into our radios all the time, as they had a lot of captured American equipment.

We had one Chinese officer come on one night, asking for an officer.  A Lt. got on the radio and this Chinese officer wanted to surrender to us without getting killed in the process by his people or ours.

He would come on at various times and one night, he was asked how he learned to speak perfect English and his reply was, he went to collage in San Francisco for 4 years and just before the war, he went back to China for a visit.  Tried to get out, but ended up in the army and in Korea.

We never learned what happened to him, as the radio went silent and he was never heard from again.
