Re: Injectable Morphine
Ed,
Can't DARKMOON be revised, in part, which
would require a new ISBN # I believe. Or maybe a slight change to the
title requires a new ISBN #. I don't know. But a few updates and
additional photos--if they were ever included--and a different cover would
produce some sales. I hear so many writers saying that "you got to
push your own books! No publisher will pay for anything these days!"
So there goes Ann Coulter hustling her books on every TV station on the networks
and cable! I mean she works hard, but it has paid off. I recently
saw a book by Henry Kissinger at B&N that was on the remainder list for
$3.95! Amazing, as it was a hardback with a nice cover and about 500
pages! How the mighty can fall. How many pages is
DARKMOON, and what size is it? It could work in soft
cover. The trick is to get on the cable shows! I will try and
get one for Dr. Shirley and I to read. If you can send me a rough computer
map of where you were in Korea, dates at various places, and the ID's of your
units, I will get the information to Dr. Shirley. If his health improves,
I will visit him at Christmas time, but right now I limit my calls to him to one
a week. His hard life, and responsibility for three hospitals in Jennings,
St. Charles, and as a visiting doctor to several other hospitals in LA, have all
taken their toll. Through all that he wrote 5 books and wrote over 20 C
& W songs. Three days on dialysis is his usual med schedule but
sometimes he needs a little extra help on the dialysis machine. He doesn't
want to fatigue himself by writing letters or using email. I never
realized how stressful writing could be but I know now! I have to wear
anti-thrombolitic thigh-high stocking almost all the time now. Sitting is
a killer! That was the one disappointing thing about hearing from him the
other night over the phone. My brothers and Louis Shirley and his brother
went to Korea but I was rejected because of a congenital heart condition.
I never really got over the guilt of failing to pass that first physical.
Today an operation can be done and the problem is largely solved, but 50+ years
ago it was only digitalis to prevent heart
failure.
Take care Ed.
