Re: Korean War Web Ring

Hi Vincent,
Yes...I finally got on.  Two days later.  Bellsouth.net gave me one set of instructions over the phone and then sent this--too late--today!  Oh well....  The cause was as per the following admission by BELLSOUTH.NET.  Their "new" ACCELERATOR technology slowed and eventually stopped my computer from making any kind of LINK CONNECTIONS!"  I guess that's why it's fast!  You can't go anywhere with it but you can turn it on and off...all day long.  All the connections and links worked fine after I deleted Bellsouth's ACCELERATOR.  Sorry to have misled you or any other member.

Dear BellSouth Dial Internet Service Customer,

Thank you for taking time to contact BellSouth Dial Internet Service. We
appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns because it is our goal to
provide the highest quality Internet service available.

Yes, this issue is related to the Accelerator software. [Honest of them anyway!] First you will need to
delete the temporary internet files in the Accelerator, then in your browser.

Right Click on the Accelerator Icon in the TaskBar.
Left click on 'Options'.
On the 'Temporary Files' tab, click the 'Delete Files' Button.
Click 'Ok'.

For Internet Explorer:
Click on 'Tools'. Choose 'Internet Options'.
Click on 'Delete Files'.
Click 'OK'.
Click on the 'Settings' button.
Click on the 'View Files' button.
Click on 'Edit'.
Click on 'Select All'.
Press the 'Delete Button' on the keyboard.
Click 'Yes'.
Close this window with the 'X' in the top right-hand corner.
Click 'Ok'.
Click 'Ok' again.
Close the browser.
Cold Reboot.

If all of this has been done, and the issue still persists:
Click on 'Start'.
Go to 'Programs'.
Go to 'BellSouth Accelerator Technology'.
Click on 'Uninstall BellSouth Accelerator Technology'.
Try to download the product again.
If this does not resolve the issue, completely uninstall the program. There are
currently issues within the program. We recommend that you check back with us,
as we will be releasing new versions of the program as improvements are made.

Again, thank you for this opportunity to address your concerns. [But no!  It's your concern!  I may go elsewhere!] Please feel free to contact us again if you have additional questions or comments.  [In psychology, they call this Bellsouth sign-off: "cognitive dissonance" or a powerful demo of the "passive-aggressive-dependent personality disorder."]

Sincerely,

Blake:

It worked fine when I tried the link in your message.  Did you get to the site?  My dad had me say less specific stuff than I had intended for our site which appears in the ring...
