I learned that one of my neighbors spent some time in Korea while in the army and she asked me if I had ever heard of the "flight of the yellow chicken"?
She said at some time, maybe 1950, some planes took off from Korea, leaving behind some soldiers or marines who later ended KIA or POW. The pilots were fleeing the invading army, thus just took off in fright.
She said there was a lot of talk about it when she was there.
