DEUCE--FOUR

That Reg't., was known as, "the bug out  reg't," If my memory is correct, they broke that reg't. up, and so many Company's thruout the 25th. Divattained so many of these Deuce---Four soldiers, The Reg't that replaced the 24th., was the 14th, therefore the  three Reg't., system, 14th., 27th.,  and 35th. We, the 27th., releived the 24th. Reg't., around the middle of June, '51, after they were on line over 60 some days. ( I wonder why they were on line that long)  Needless to say they were glad that the 27th. releived them, but there was some talk among the Deuce--Four ranks, that the 27th. took their time releiving them. But some of the men from the Deuce---Four stuck up for the 27th., saying we saved their butt. This was phrased in David Hackworth's book, " ABOUT FACE", a must read book !!
