Re: P39 in Korea from Joe Baugher site
Ed,
Righto. A recent history of the ROKAF showed they had mostly L-4 and L-5
light aircraft and about a dozen T-6 Texans, many of which were shot up on the
ground over the first couple of days of the war. Later in the month of July the
1st Provisional Squadron under Major Dean Hess was formed (as in "Battle Hymn")
and the lights were replaced by the US.
The ROKAF lost about 110 aircraft during the war, mostly to ground fire.
