No question about it. The Turks meted out their own form of justice. As a
result their stuff was generally left alone. And, as a matter of
information, the Partisans also had strict justice, including public
whipping and summary execution.
But the anecdotal account of the two GI's does sound a little far fetched
but I can believe a couple of GI's were caught stealing from the Turks and
vanished.
