The numbers above are not accurate.  CPVAF had a practice of
including damaged enemy planes as "victories" (Zhan Guo).  They
painted red stars on the fuselages for scoring -- one red star
for each "victory".  Maybe that was the one of the sources
causing the confusions.

The real scores for the top three CPVAF "Aces" are:

Zhao Bao Tong  7 kills + 2 damaged
Wang Hai       4 kills + 5 damaged
Liu Yu Ti      6 kills + 2 damaged
