Re:Books
You all,
My themes do not change
much. And much of what I learned in Korea, beginning with the five
Australian P-51s (?) that strafed TFS at Osan, should be the same thing many
of you learned as well. Dig in and stay away from things that attract
the attention and focus points of pilots, such as the "bridge" at No Gun
Ri. This was enough later from what the Koreans learned at Osan and the
week following from their attacks on "L" Company, 21st Infantry at Chochiwon,
that I doubt there were many serving soldiers in that crowd of Korean people
at No Gun Ri,
And getting shot at in Vietnam by our aircraft makes me
believe we were inspiring/teaching the Viet Cong the same thing we did the
Koreans, i.e., his shovel is a soldier's best means for neutralizing the
impact of our Air Force. Digging in is the key to survival.
Best
regards, and keep the faith.
Carl Bernard,
"B" Company, 21st
Infantry (Task Force Smith) and "L" Co, 21st.
And, lacking a hole, jumping behind a grave mound
as I did when the B-26 worked us over will do.
