PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF CHINA IN THE KOREAN WAR

A question-answer FAQ about the Peoples Republic of China’s participation in the Korean War from the Chinese perspective can be found at:

http://centurychina.com/history/krwarfaq.html

Those reading this “FAQ” need to keep in mind that some, or much, information in this document is open to historical challenge because of the great disparity between United Nations battle field reports and what is presented in this version, especially in the area of casualties. This FAQ also does not present any information about the PRC Air Force’s participation while flying from “neutral” air bases within China to engage UN aircraft over North Korea. Nor does it mention the use of these same Chinese air bases by Soviet Union (now Russian) fighter aircraft who also engaged UN aircraft over North Korea.. One major item not addressed is the holding and interrogation of UN Prisoners of War within the PRC. Another failing in this document is that excerpts from writings by American and other non-Chinese historians are taken from context.
